First, it is important to understand that there are three different places where a time zone can be configured:
Vyte Account Settings → Account Time Zone
Meeting Type Settings → Meeting Type Time Zone
Connected Calendar Settings (Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.)
To fully understand how Vyte handles time zones, it's important to set aside a common misconception: your personal calendar (Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.) never determines the time displayed in Vyte.
Here's how each setting actually affects your meetings:
The Three Variables: What Is Their Real Impact?
1.Connected Calendar (Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, iCloud, etc.)
Impact:
The connected calendar is only used to determine your availability (your free and busy time slots).
Display:
It has no direct impact on the times displayed in Vyte emails or on Vyte pages.
For example, if your calendar is set to the Shanghai time zone but all other settings use the Paris time zone, Vyte will continue to display times in the Paris time zone.
Impact:
This setting takes precedence over all other time zone settings when it comes to communications.
Display:
It determines the time zone used in all notification and confirmation emails sent to you.
Impact:
This setting allows you to enforce a specific time zone for a particular meeting type.
Display:
It enables the display of available time slots in two time zones on confirmation pages: the guest's local time zone and the organizer's (or reference) time zone equivalent.
